Hello, I’m Janet "Jan" Collins, and I am deeply dedicated to promoting fitness and health. My journey toward a healthy lifestyle began early, influenced by my family's health struggles. My mother faced the challenges of polio, my father suffered a heart attack at age 50, and my older sister battled multiple sclerosis before passing away. My younger sister, who was a smoker and overweight, also recently passed away despite my efforts to encourage her to quit smoking, eat healthily, and exercise.
These personal experiences have fueled my lifelong commitment to health and fitness. For over three decades, I served as a court reporter, running my own successful business. However, at age 60, I shifted my focus to fitness, becoming a certified fitness instructor to help others lead healthier lives. Now retired from instructing, my passion for health and fitness continues to drive me to be an advocate for a healthy lifestyle.
At the age of 75, I achieved a significant milestone by competing in my first WNBF bodybuilding competition in the Bikini class "Ultra Grand Masters" (age 60 & over). This experience underscored my belief that it is never too late to pursue your fitness goals and strive for excellence.
At Fit for Life, my goal is to share my knowledge and experiences to inspire others to embrace physical activity and nutritious eating habits. I believe that it is never too late to start taking care of your body and mind. Through this platform, I hope to provide valuable resources, tips, and motivation to help you achieve your fitness goals and lead a healthier, more fulfilling life.
